ABOUT WESTNEY
Westney Consulting Group, Inc. was established in 1978 by Richard Westney, a noted authority on project and risk management. Since its inception, the company’s focus has been on improving the predictability and performance of major engineering and construction projects in the energy industry.
Widely recognized as thought leaders, Westney consultants are frequent presenters at industry conferences such as Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AICHE), The Engineering & Construction Contracting Association (ECC), the Project Management Institute (PMI®), the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE International), and the Institute for Operations Research and the Management Sciences (INFORMS). They also serve as visiting faculty at executive programs at academic institutions such as The University of Texas at Austin, Texas A&M University, Stanford University, and the Norwegian Institute of Science and Technology.
The company’s methodologies are also published in numerous books such as The Strategic Project Planner, and The Engineer’s Cost Handbook. Westney Consulting Group is a charter member of the Project Management Institute (PMI®) Registered Education Provider program.

Richard's consulting focus is on Program Strategies and Strategic Risk Management, as well as Executive Learning. Author of 5 books on project management, Richard Westney is internationally recognized as a source of interesting and powerful techniques for planning and executing projects. He has served as visiting faculty for executive programs at the University of Texas, Texas A&M and Stanford Universities, as well as at the University of Trondheim, Norway. He founded Westney Consulting Group in 1978 after working on international production, refining, and chemical manufacturing projects for Exxon. A licensed Professional Engineer, he is also a certified Project Management Professional. Richard is a Fellow and Past-President of AACE International (The Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering), and a recipient of AACE's highest honor, The Award of Merit. He holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the City College of New York, an MS in Management Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and is also a graduate of the 3-year Owner/President Management Program at Harvard Business School. |

Eric's consulting focus is on Program Strategies for international mega-projects, as well as on Program Delivery System design. He joined Westney in 1999 after holding management positions in the exploration and production functions of BP Amoco, and lived in several European locations. He joined Amoco after serving as an Airborne Ranger in the US Army. A licensed Professional Engineer, he is also a certified Project Management Professional. Eric holds a BS in Civil Engineering from the Virginia Military Institute, an MBA from Regis University;in Denver, and has completed the Key Executive Program at Harvard Business School. |

Keith's focus is on Strategic Risk Management and Risk-Driven Contract Strategy. He is a co-founder (with Richard Westney) of Risk Resolution LLC. Keith joined Westney in 2003, after holding executive positions with international engineering & construction contractors, such as Vice Chairman & CEO of MW Kellogg Ltd., President & CEO of Stone & Webster, and Executive VP of Brown & Root. He was also Senior VP with a major energy company. He holds a BS in Engineering from the University of Texas, and was Chairman of the Engineering Foundation. He was also Chairman of the Construction Industry Institute. He is a graduate of the Advanced Management Program at Rice University. |
Westney’s home office is in the Galleria area of Houston; and work is also done through its Canadian affiliate, Westney Consulting Group Canada ULC.
